Sunday 24th June 2007 saw the opening of the Beach Volley Season with the first senior tournament - the Kinnie Zest Open. The tournament was played by ten teams, one of which was from Northern Ireland. Although the immense heat and the scorching sun made it very difficult for the competitors, the level of play was top level with many teams playing intense balanced matches. The winning team was formed by Aaron Stivala and Paul Vella while the second-placed team was formed by Marco Muratori and David Galea.
