Farsons announces appointment of Chief Operations Officer

Simonds Farsons Cisk plc has announced the appointment of Eugenio Caruana as Chief Operations Officer with effect from 6th June 2018.

Mr Caruana joined Farsons Group as a Trainee Brewer in 1988 after graduating as a Chemist from the University of Malta. Upon his return from Scotland, he joined the Farsons’ Brewing team as Brewer Manager and was directly involved in a number of brewing projects connected with the modernisation and automation of the brewing plant. He became Head Brewer in 2004 with direct responsibilities for the brewing/water treatment operations and the overall quality function.  He also formed part of the technical team responsible for the building of the new Brew House which was successfully commissioned in 2012 and more recently the Beer Packaging Facility in 2016 as well as the new kegging plant this year.

Mr Caruana was appointed Head of Production in 2012 and was promoted to the post of Chief Operations Officer – Designate in February 2017. He will now be heading all the operations teams and managing a state-of-the-art plant which has been commissioned over the past years.

Mr Norman Aquilina, Chief Executive Officer – Farsons Group, commented, “Whilst wishing Eugenio all the best in this new role and augur him every success, we look forward to the next phase of our operational development to deliver the best possible results from the investments we have commissioned recently. With new beers and further innovation in our product range planned, optimisation of our manufacturing and technical processes will enhance overall performance of our operations.”
