You may struggle to locate Malta on a map, but our islands’ reputation as a centre for excellence within the shipping industry has been known for centuries and the island has served as a hub for cross-Mediterranean trade and a departure point for our own locally produced exports to many destinations around the world.

Malta is dotted with a number of excellent natural occurring harbours that have only improved our competitive edge in maritime affairs, and in addition, our accession to EU membership has ensured our place in further bridging of the African continent to mainland Europe and facilitating our global trade.
