Farsons has inaugurated a new 3,800 square metre corporate office block within its main premises in Mriehel. The inauguration, part of Farsons’ celebrations of 90 years of brewing in Malta, was attended by Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta, Mr Edgar Preca, Dr Jose Herrera, Minister for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change, Dr Adrian Delia, Leader of the Opposition, Mr Robert Arrigo, Member of Parliament, Dr Roberta Metsola, Member of the European Parliament and distinguished guests.
The building is characterised by a striking innovative design and high-standard specifications. A large suspended staircase, giving the impression of vertical flow, connects the levels, combining an industrial look, highlighted by steel beams, with modern and airy workspaces. Some 200 tonnes of steel were used for the structure whilst a cube-like multi-faceted façade, using marble and glass, contrasts with the adjoining buildings. High levels of efficiency, including high specification glazing and integrated blinds, are built into the design.
“We are very happy to mark the completion of this latest investment and we are confident that our new corporate office block will be an inspiring workspace which stimulates innovative thinking and collaboration and will motivate our employees as we write the next chapters in the Farsons story,” stated Mr Louis A. Farrugia, Farsons Group Chairman.
“A clear sense of direction, the willingness to make long-term investments, and a commitment to innovation have all been our hallmarks since Farsons’ inception, in 1928, as a relatively modest brewing business. Certainly, much has changed over the past decades, and we have grown into an increasingly diversified foods and beverage group with an international dimension. Yet our core values and beliefs are unwavering as is our optimism about the full potential which we can achieve,” continued Mr Farrugia.
During the inaugural ceremony the President congratulated the Farsons Group on achieving this 90-year milestone and commended management and employees for their ongoing commitment to CSR activities over the years.
Guests at the event also had the opportunity to view the ’90 Years of Brewing in Malta’ exhibition tracing highlights of Farsons remarkable history since the launch of its first beer Farsons Pale Ale, on 19th April 1928.
