Earlier this morning we received the news of the unexpected passing of one of our Directors, Baroness Christiane Ramsay Scicluna who was taken ill on Tuesday evening. The Baroness was appointed to the SFC plc Board of Directors on 1st July 2015 but of course, the Scicluna family, the Cisk element in Simonds-Farsons-Cisk is an important part of the history and dynamism of the story of Farsons.
Baroness Christiane Ramsay Scicluna, or Muffy, as she was most affectionately known by those dear and close to her, started her career in the airline industry. She was based in Rome and worked for Air Italia until she met and married her husband, a renowned choreographer with Italian television. Together with her husband and mother, the Baroness had set up and ran a successful dance school in Rome until moving to Malta. Early in 2007, she set up her own company that focused on the renovation, restoration, and redevelopment of Palazzo Parisio, creating an award winning, fine dining restaurant, luxury events location and historic tourist attraction from the restored house and grounds. The Baroness had diverse business interests and had also been presented with an award as an ‘International Woman of Enterprise’ from the Conseil Europeen in Strasbourg.
We recall her unique character, her elegance, her distinguished and warm personality. She genuinely sought to do the best she could, setting high standards in whatever she decided to give her attention to. She will be sorely missed by many, her very dear family, especially her daughter Ms Justine Pergola, friends and all the Farsons team. We extend our deepest condolences and express our sincere appreciation for her commitment to Farsons and our Board over the many years.
May she rest in peace.
