Danish brewing group Carlsberg has revealed that its eponymous lager brand was the fastest growing international beer brand in the world for the second year in a row, according to market research company Canadean.
Canadean defines international brand growth as the brand’s total volume minus volume in its home market. Average growth for international brands is around 3.5% per year.
Carlsberg increased its sales by 11.5%, or one million hectoliters, in 2003. Carlsberg said it is now the third largest beer brand in the world.
