Stompers Rugby Football Club will again be officially sponsored for the 2005 rugby season by T.G.I. Friday’s, together with Carlsberg and NTT Creations.
During a recent launch dinner held at T.G.I. Friday’s, Il-Fortizza, Sliema, attended by senior members of the club and sponsors, Stompers Rugby F.C. presented the new official team kits that the players will be wearing throughout the season.
Mr. Joe Jnr Caruana Curran, PRO for the club, commented, “The continued support of T.G.I. Friday’s, Carlsberg and NTT is essential to the growth of the club – which this year has also fielded a second team into the National League – as well as further developing the club’s youth section.”
Mr. Marco Debono, Marketing Executive for T.G.I. Friday’s, said, “We are proud to be associated once again with such a successful and leading rugby team in Malta.”
Also attending the presentation was Ms. Yanika Mattei, Brand Executive for Carlsberg, who commented, “Carlsberg has an unrivalled commitment to the sport of rugby in Malta and we shall continue to support the sport as much as we can through such sponsorships.”
Also during the evening, the club launched their official website www.stompersrugby.com. This is a first for a Maltese rugby club to have such a web presence. This site includes news articles, player profiles, league fixtures and a merchandise section to be available soon. The launching of this site was only possible through the sponsorship of NTT Creations Ltd. (www.nttcreations.com) and Mr. Niki Travers Tauss, who has managed the team’s web & print identity since 1999.
T.G.I. Friday’s is situated at Il-Fortizza, Sliema and is operated by Food Chain (Holdings) Ltd., a fully-owned subsidiary of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.
