The Basketball Promotion Unit held a mini basketball 3-on-3 tournament at the Basketball Complex in Ta’ Qali. Ten different secondary schools presented 90 students aged from 12 years, to compete in the tournament, which was sponsored by Kinnie and Eurosport.
The first prize from the Girls Group A teams was won by St Dorothy’s School, while Sir Adrian Dingli School was the runner-up. Handaq Junior Lyceum and Hamrun Junior Lyceum were the winners of the categories Boys Group A and Group B respectively. Second placing in the later categories went to Verdala Junior Lyceum and St Michael’s School.
At the end of the successful Kinnie mini basketball 3-on-3 tournament, Miss Lara Micallef, Kinnie Brand Executive, presented the trophies to the winners and presented medals to all participants. Mr Carmelo Sammut, Shop Manager at Eurosport B’Kara presented two Adidas basketballs to every participating school. The President of the Malta Basketball Association, Magistrate Antonio Mizzi, rounded off the event by congratulating all participants and thanked the organisers, the Basketball Promotion Unit, and the staff of participating schools.
