Pepsi Max takes to the streets as the sponsor of Joga Bonito tournaments across Malta and Gozo. Joga Bonito aims to take football back to its street roots where players take part for the brief thrill of a fast game between friends – and Pepsi Max will be on site providing maximum refreshment all the way.
Joga Bonito 3vs3 is a football concept that is being promoted around the world where two teams of three players go head to head in a 21 x 7m football pitch set up on tarmac. The game is fast paced and exciting, with spectators looking in from the sidelines. The tournament is on a knock-out basis and games will be held in full day events in various localities around Malta and Gozo, with the final being held on 20th May 2006 at Freedom Square, Valletta.
Ms Alison Schembri, Brand Executive for Pepsi in Malta, said “Pepsi has always been committed to creating and encouraging football activity that excites and engages with people around the world – and this year is no different! Through Joga Bonito, we hope to bring our consumers closer to their football passions.”
In addition to sponsoring Joga Bonito, this year Pepsi has created a very exciting football campaign that includes TV advertising with the theme ‘Pepsi Fest’. The TV advertising shows world-class players enjoying a game of football with an amateur Bavarian team who confuse the Pepsi team with their skills inspired by Bavarian dancing. Check out www.mydadada.com to really experience and engage with Pepsi Fest and the Pepsi players themselves, who include Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Alessandro Nesta and David Beckham.
Joga Bonito is also sponsored by Gatorade, another global brand with a long-time association with sports.
Pepsi and Gatorade are marketed and distributed by Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.
