The Farsons Great Beer Festival, Malta’s biggest outdoor festival, kicks off today at 8pm at Ta’ Qali Park. The Festival runs until Sunday, 5th August and entrance and parking are free. Sponsors of this year’s edition are Malta Tourism Authority, Melita Digital, Vodafone and Fiat.
Tonight, for the first time ever, The Farsons Great Beer Festival will be broadcast live on TVM, with the hosts of the Main Stage, Moira Delia and Ray Calleja and performances by Hooligan, Debbie Scerri, Christian Harding. The programme is presented by Peter Carbonaro, Angie Laus, Fabrizio Faniello and Elaine Saliba. Entertainment tonight includes Pjazza’s resident band, Big Band Brothers as well as games and prizes for the audience.
The programme on the Rock Stage tonight features White Crimson and The Characters.
A large variety of local and international award-winning beers are available at the Farsons Great Beer Festival. Local beers include Cisk Lager, Hopleaf Extra, Blue Label Smooth 'N' Creamy, Farsons Traditional Shandy, Shandy Lager & Lime and the new Cisk Excel. A great choice of international beer brands include Cisk Export, Carlsberg, Budweiser, Guinness, Newcastle Brown Ale, Kilkenny, John Smith’s, Beck's and Corona.
For the first time this year, speciality beers that are available exclusively in export markets, Farsons Strong Ale, Lacto Milk Stout, Cisk Red and Cisk Extra Strong, will be available to visitors of the festival.
The festival is increasingly being considered a showcase of the best in local talent for established artists as well as young and up-and-coming singers. With over 50 live performances scheduled on two stages, this year’s edition, once again, lives up to its status. The entertainment line-up for this weekend on each stage is as follows:

A great range of food is available at the Food Court to complement the beer and music: from Chinese to Turkish, German to Italian, as well as the usual favourites, burgers, hot dogs, kebabs and pizza.
And this year, parents leave their children in the Kids Fantasyland where they will be kept entertained and amused with a range of performing arts, hands-on workshops, arts and crafts, storytelling, and educational programmes presented by Curtain Raiser. Throughout the festival, children will enjoy more than 15 different types of activities jam-packed with fun, and education.

Due to embellishment works being carried out at the main entrance to the park, the public is advised to follow the signs to the secondary entrance which is closer to the main car park and leads directly to the festival site.
