After the Mass, His Grace met informally with a large number of employees
The activities to mark the 80th Anniversary of Farsons, continued today with a Mass for Management and employees celebrated by Archbishop Mgr Paul Cremona at the Brewery in Mriehel.
The occasion served also for the Archbishop to meet Farsons employees at their place of work during the week leading to the Feast of St Joseph the Worker which the church celebrates on May 1st.
His Grace was welcomed on his arrival by Company Chairman, Mr Bryan Gera and Group Chief Executive Mr Louis A. Farrugia.
In his address of welcome before the Mass, Mr Gera dwelt on the significance of the event and referred to the various means through which the Company, over its eighty years of existence, has always maintained a close collaboration with its employees in the various initiatives taken to ensure that the Company remains as one of the leading industries in Malta, contributing not only to the economy of the country but directly providing the livelihood to thousands of employees. He said that the Company has always striven to be a model employer as testified by various written testimonials by Malta’s leading authorities.
In His homily during Mass, the Archbishop dwelt on the importance of the dignity of the worker. He said that he was pleased to be celebrating Mass during the week leading to the Feast of St Joseph the Worker and meet the workers at Farsons as he knew about the harmonious relationship that exists between management and employees.
The Archbishop blessed two holy icons which will be installed in the chapel at the Brewery to mark the occasion.
Concelebrating with His Grace were also Rev Fr Walter Cachia, parish priest of Qormi St Sebastian, Fr Anton Cassar, parish priest of Qormi St George and Fr Alex Scerri parish priest of St Venera.
