Ray Scerri, Dispense Services Manager at Simonds Farsons Cisk, briefing clients on Guinness, Kilkenny, and John Smith’s beer during the Beer Quality Seminar 2009
The art of serving a fresh perfect pint was highlighted during a Beer Quality and Training Seminar held at The Brewery of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc recently. The event was open to Wands Limited trade clients who serve Guinness, Kilkenny and John Smith’s beer on draught.
Around 60 clients attended the one day seminar which was conducted by Ray Scerri, Dispense Services Manager at Simonds Farsons Cisk. He outlined the brewing manufacturing process and the ingredients of making a good quality beer as well as focusing on how to handle kegs and pour the perfect pint.
“International studies have revealed that serving a pint correctly adds value to the outlet and increases sales. Beer drinkers normally will keep on going back to the same pub when they find good quality beer. Good quality beer is critical for beer drinkers, even more than the price,” commented Mr Scerri.
Matthew Cuomo, Retail Operations Manager at Wands Limited, introduced the seminar and said: “Our aim is to highlight the importance of serving a fresh and top quality pint every time. We want our customers to be satisfied with the beer quality, service and product presentation. Guinness, Kilkenny and John Smith’s are three distinctive brews which provide a unique experience to beer drinkers.”
During the seminar, clients were also briefed on the brands’ history and marketing by Wands Brand Executives Gabriella Gusman and Marco Debono and had a tour of the Farsons Brewery led by Brewer Martin Polidano. The seminar was also attended by representatives from Guinness and John Smith’s breweries who flew to Malta for this occasion.
