Cisk Export Premium Lager Beer, brewed and bottled by Simonds Farsons Cisk plc, has added another accolade to its list of awards and recognitions. The Maltese beer has just been awarded a prestigious silver medal in the International Beer Challenge 2011.
For the last 15 years, the International Beer Challenge has attracted entries from over 30 countries and has rewarded and promoted excellent beers. The competition encourages participation from the largest breweries in the world as well as pioneering microbrewers across countries such as Australia, Italy and the US. The competition involves a rigorous and independent judging process with over 50 judges from around the world and across the industry. Indeed, any accolade at the International Beer Challenge is a testament to the highest quality and standards within brewing as judged by peers and industry.
Susan Weenink, Head of Marketing and Communications at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc remarked “This award is another significant achievement for Cisk Export and one which recognises its excellent quality, as well as the unwavering commitment of our Company to delivering excellent quality products. We are proud of the results achieved in the International Beer Challenge. This will surely raise the brand’s profile and boost awareness among our loyal Maltese consumers and beyond our shores.”
During the competition, organised by Off Licence News, the voice of drinks retailing in the UK, 60 beers were blind-tasted and scored according to appearance, aroma and taste.
“We take great pride in the quality of our beers, which are brewed to the highest standards, using only choicest raw materials, and our brewers’ dedication to excellence has once again given us great results,” commented Mr Eugenio Caruana, Head Brewer at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.
Launched in 1997, Cisk Export is a bottom-fermented beer distinguished by its light golden colour and its lively, dense head. Its well balanced character resulting from its rich hop aroma and delicate astringency make it a smooth, exceptional beer. Its alcohol content is 5% ABV. www.facebook.com/ciskexport.
