Global brand ambassador for Havana Club Rum and expert Mixologist, Michael Menegos recently hosted a Rum Masterclass at Paranga Restaurant in St Julians, which was attended by a large number of professional bartenders.
The first Havana Club Masterclass, organized by Farsons Beverage Imports Company Limited (FBIC Limited), focused on the pillars of the Havana Club range: Havana Club Añejo 3 Años and Havana Club Añejo 7 Años, showcasing the versatility of the brand.
Mr Pierre Stafrace, General Manager at FBIC, explained that the Masterclass was an excellent opportunity to learn more about the rum category as well as the authenticity of Cuban rums.
The Masterclass also served as the perfect platform to announce the International Havana Club Cocktail Competition which will be held in Havana, Cuba in June 2012. A bartender will be selected at the local Havana Club competition being organised in March who will be representing Malta at the International event.
Mr Stafrace added, “We are aiming to gather like-minded individuals and see their innovative ideas on classic Cuban cocktails, but most of all we look forward to honouring the spirit of the Cuban Cantinero: a bartender living and working with human values, a convivial, multi-talented, cosmopolitan professional and a great host.”
Grown in the fertile land and unique climate that is Cuba, sugarcane is paired with the passion of its Master blenders to create Havana Club, one of the finest rums in the world. The name was chosen to capture Cuba's rum making heritage and the unique atmosphere of its capital, Havana. Havana Club is closely entwined with the Cuban culture and Cubans are very proud of what has become a true national icon – they consider it to be one of the best Cuban ambassadors worldwide.
Havana Club is imported, marketed and distributed by FBIC Limited, a member of The Farsons Group.
