Set to be the biggest Arthur’s Day yet, celebrations will take place in over 55 countries, kicking off on 27th September 2012.
Arthur’s Day is a global music event which celebrates those who, like Guinness founder Arthur Guinness, are distinctive and bold.
This year it is estimated that more than 1.5 million Guinness fans and music lovers will participate in Arthur’s Day globally, at a series of music events featuring acts ranging from the highest profile international artists, to emerging local talent.
This unique music event also directly benefits the Arthur Guinness Fund – an internal fund created by Guinness which supports social entrepreneurs (people who are in the business of changing communities for the better) around the world. Since its inception in 2009, the Arthur Guinness Fund has already supported more than forty five social entrepreneurs, in thirteen countries around the world.
Created to honour and continue the philanthropic legacy of founder Arthur Guinness, the Arthur Guinness Fund has been uniquely designed to offer a spring board to social entrepreneurs around the world to help them to take their initiatives to the next level and make a lasting and positive difference.
In Malta, fans will also have a chance to raise a Guinness to Arthur. A number of pubs and bars will be giving free merchandise on a minimum purchase. There will also be live music and karaoke games in a number of these bars.
Guinness is imported, marketed and distributed by Farsons Beverage Imports Company Limited, a member of the Farsons Group.
