Celebrating its 34th year, the Farsons Beer Festival is all set to kick off tomorrow Friday at Ta’ Qali National Park from 8.00pm onwards. The festival, sponsored by Vodafone, will run until Sunday 3 August. Entrance is free and ample free parking available.
Thea, DJ Alex (Reflex) Grech, Plan O, Falcon’s Flying Circus and Xtruppaw will perform today (Friday). The programme will be on two different stages – Main Stage and Rock Stage. On Saturday, the Blues Brothers will lead off the evening followed by Live Elvis Tribute Show & Dancers, Milk Mi, Canvas Wall, with the Rifffs rounding up the evening.
More than 50 different shows by well-known Maltese and international musicians and singers are scheduled to take place on the two stages. Throughout the festival, the shows on the Main Stage will be hosted by Daniel and Sander.
Among the vast selection of Farsons fine beers, beer lovers will find speciality brews that are available exclusively for export markets, together with UK bottle conditioned ales and premium cider brands.
In addition to the many branded bars and food stalls, the Beer Festival is introducing a Kombi bar serving fun cocktails mixed with different beers and ciders and other non-alcoholic cocktails and a seated barbeque area for people to flavour barbequed and grilled food prepared with beer by the BBQ & grilling association.
“Along the last 34 years, Farsons has consistently invested in this annual summer event ensuring that visitors get an excellent festival experience. The Main Stage setting has been enhanced to give more spectacular effects during the shows. We have engaged a visual jockey to combine stunning screen graphics on LED screens on both stages, a new stage canopy, larger LED screen and improved overall lighting,” said Shawn Caruana, Business Support Manager and Beer Festival organiser at Simonds Farsons Cisk.
The festival is offering purchasers from the Farsons Brand Store the opportunity to win this year’s grand prize which is the Yamaha YZF – R125 sports motorbike. Only purchases from the Brand Store are eligible to enter the lottery. The winner will be announced on the last festival day. The official festival mug is also available from the main bars.
