Food Chain Limited, a subsidiary of the Farsons Group which successfully manages the internationally renowned Pizza Hut, KFC and Burger Kind franchise restaurants in the Maltese market, has recently appointed Kurt Micallef as Business Manager.
Working closely with and reporting to the Group Head of Food Business, Mr John Bonello Ghio, Kurt will be contributing to the strategic development of the business. He will be leading and coordinating the implementation of key initiatives and projects whilst assuming responsibility for the daily operations of the company. “In his new role, Kurt will lead and support the committed team at Food Chain, as well as contributing to the growth of this important sector of the Farsons Group’s portfolio. This appointment is another step in the Group’s vision to give added focus to the entire food portfolio besides the ongoing drive to strengthen its beverage portfolio,” said John Bonello Ghio. “Kurt’s experience in the food business both locally and abroad places him in a good position to take on this challenging role as together with our teams, we continue to contribute to the growth strategy for this sector and strive to achieve the desired results.”
The focus and strategy for the food business within the Farsons Group, particularly within Food Chain is supported by the continued investment in the opening of new restaurants, most recently Burger King and KFC at PAMA Mosta, as well as through extensive refurbishment programmes of the various restaurants.
Mr Kurt Micallef is a graduate in tourism from the University of Malta and the Institute of Tourism Studies. He has worked in the United Kingdom, in Libya as well as locally.
